Digitization of a Carved Wooden Throne , Lichfield, Stafforshire
This Carved Throne appears to be carved directly from a single piece of wood, possibly a tree stump or a thick section of a tree.
It features a tall, rectangular backrest and a flat seat. The sides are thick and retain the natural, rough texture of the wood, resembling the outer bark or rough-hewn surface of a log.
The wood itself has a weathered, aged appearance, with visible grain patterns, knots, cracks, and textural irregularities. The color is predominantly muted greys and browns, characteristic of exposed, unpolished wood. While rustic, there are clear signs of carving tools on the flattened surfaces of the backrest and seat, creating a somewhat primitive but functional seating area.
To digitize this object we circled it for times changing the angle to captures all it’s specific features. The final model was about 50 Million tris so it was decimated for viewing purposes.
