Digitization of an old and rusty “Thor Copper Hammmer”

Digitizing a Thor copper hammer using photogrammetry presents a fantastic opportunity to capture its unique character, including its wear, patina, and branding.

To be able to recreate this model we had to fix the hammer to a table in order to make sure it’s not going to move considering it’s weight.

We then used a multiple rotational passes, a low angle pass, a mid angle pass, a high angle pass and a top down pass. These were critical for capturing the geometry of the striking surfaces and the top of the handle.
